Belt Style

Where you wear your belt depends on what type of look you are trying to achieve.  A belt worn below your bust might be the corset belt.  These are wide and stiff and so you want to keep the rest of your outfit simple. This belt will draw attention to your breasts and if yours are small, this belt will push them up.

A belt worn at your natural waist line is ideal for most people. It can slim your mid-section and will make your legs seem longer.  For those with a short torso, your belt color choice should be the same as the top you are wearing. A belt worn around your hips will certainly accentuate your hips. This is not a good choice for those who are short as it will only make them appear even shorter.

Belts that are worn as a fashion statement will usually have a big buckle and should then be your only accessory. Belt buckles can be stylish or they can be fun. You can wear a big flower on your belt or you can wear one with lots of rhinestones. Either way, use it as your focal point on a plain dress for the most effect. Fashion can be fun when you choose to express yourself with what you wear.
