The bird’s are twittering, the mercury’s rising – it’s official – Spring is here!  It should be a happy time, finally stowing away the winter woollies and getting out your cooler clobber.  So why do I always find it vaguely depressing?  I think it’s probably because my memories of my Spring/Summer apparel are usually somewhat rose-tinted!  When your old favourites look a bit dated and shabby you know a wardrobe Spring clean is inevitable to make way for some fabulous summer dresses for daywear and glamorous evening dresses for long summer nights…

After a rigorous cull of all the items you know in your heart you will never wear again and should probably never have worn in the first place, like the top your teenage daughter persuaded you to buy on holiday “Go on mum, it makes you look really young!”, to the frayed denim shorts that had frankly frayed way too far by the end of the Summer but boy were they comfy, you may have very little left.

This is where things start looking up as obviously some retail therapy is on the agenda.  Gone are the days when I would have to swelter for a few extra weeks in my knitwear while I saved enough to buy a couple of key pieces from Monsoon!  Now I shop online at affordable online boutiques like Roman Originals and buy a complete, on trend wardrobe (which washes and wears surprisingly well) and still have enough change for a trip to Starbucks!
